My bio

Jason sarrey

Jason Sarrey grew up in a small town in rural Massachusetts. He cherished the time spent traveling to Boston with his father and knew from an early age that he wanted to live in the city. He fulfilled his dream by moving to Boston, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Suffolk University. He then moved to Los Angeles for two years before realizing that New York City was a better fit for him. He moved to Brooklyn in 2004 and has worked in the entertainment industry ever since.
Jason is a writer, director, producer and studio head of BlockPond Productions.  He directed his first feature film in 2017, opened BlockPond Productions in 2020 and has been producing short films, fictional podcasts while also developing multiple feature films and television projects.

“I started BlockPond because I wanted to build a studio where the writing comes first. Where podcasts get the same craft as features. Where every show on the slate is something you’d actually tell a friend about. That’s the bar.”

With a background in scripted production, audio drama, and creative direction, the founder has shaped BlockPond into a studio where film, TV, and podcast disciplines work side by side — sharing writers’ rooms, sound designers, and the same obsession with story.
